Rymill's Milestone

2002 Shiraz
Released in July 2006, this wine has excellent concentration and complexity being produced from 30 year old vines in a low yielding vintage. And it will keep continuing to develop beautifully with time in the bottle.

A lifted, spicy nose of star anise combines with vanilla, liquorice and ripe plums. The palate displays pure, dark chocolate mixed with sweet raisins, and secondary earthy characters. The ripe, soft and compact tannins provide great structure and ensure a long, persistent finish.

This versatile wine is already excellent drinking and is made to be enjoyed with a diversity of food. The wine will enjoy bottle age.

The dusty character on the nose is typical of good Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, and it has combined well in this blend with the lifted perfumed fruit and hint of rose petal aromas of Merlot. The wine has a very good balance of fruit, flavour and concentration, supported by an excellent tannin profile, with a mouth filling palate of delicious mulberry and ripe cherry flavours.
